Truman set into motion a series of progressive measures which included heath insurance, increase in minimum wage, and a bill that committed the U.S. to maintaining full employment.

Limited the amount of terms that a President can serve to two full terms (Presented because FDR was elected 4 times)
Taft-Hartley Act
Outlawing the closed shop (contract requiring workers to join a union before being hire)
Permitting states to pass "right to work" laws which required workers to join a union after being hired.
Outlawed secondary boycotts
Gave President the power in invoke an 80 day cool off period before a strike endangered the national safety could be called.
